The story

The platform we needed didn't exist.

We saw the same problems in every organisation we worked with: scattered data, ungoverned scripts, and teams spending most of their time on manual processes that could be automated.

What we saw

Engineers logged into five systems to answer one question. Other teams filed tickets for data they should have been able to access themselves.

Some teams tried to build internal platforms. They ended up maintaining infrastructure instead of doing security work.

A small, engineering-led Swiss company.

Nordfold is independent, self-funded, and built for the long term. A focused team of engineers — no sales layer, no offshore development — working directly with the enterprises that run on Kona. Below is how the company has grown, from first commit to general availability.

    Nordfold founded.

    Founded in Zürich to build the network security automation platform the industry needed.

  2. 2023 – 2025
    Core platform engineered.

    Two years of focused engineering on the Kona platform — primitives, runtime, and integration model.

  3. Oct 2025
    Early access begins.

    First production deployment at a large Swiss media enterprise.

  4. June 2026
    Official public launch.

    Kona becomes generally available to enterprise customers.

  5. End 2026
    Launching Kona Integrations.

    A new product line dedicated to vendor connectors and connectivity.
